In Dialogue with Untitled

As we are perpetually navigating time, our memory seems to have little control over its volume. The sound remembered becomes a representation, a photograph. Our relationship with significance is more complex than a single narrative. Stories are made up of language and language is full of misinterpretations and mishaps, the things that make it human. Decoding something becomes an unthankful job, as the meaning is always bound to be re-examined.

The work speaks to the perpetual re-examination of the meaning in relationship with historical significance, material language, iconic modes of communication and its semiotic analysis. Through the use of repetition, sound and juxtaposition of analogue and digital symbols of communication the piece exemplifies the need for patience and curiosity in our attempts to decode or re-examine various signs of communication.
